Date Night

Kris and I have been going on weekly dates. I love it. As I learned in my SFL 100 class, which I explained in my previous post about School, one of the ways to keep a marriage healthy is continued courtship. I'd recommend it to anyone :) Last week, we saw Gnomeo and Juliet in our little local theater. It was really cute. We snuck in some treats (including some homemade puppy chow) and had a great time.

On Wednesday, I got asked on another date. This is how our conversation went (it was actually through texts... we were both at school. The blue is Kris and the pink is me)

Hey what are you doing tomorrow? do you want to go on a date?

Sure :) what did you have in mind?

It is a surprise. You will have to find out.

Does that mean you don't know?

No I know what we are doing but I want you to be surprised.

Silly me for thinking he might not have something planned. So, yesterday, Kris told me to be ready around 4:30. We headed out the door and went to Texas Roadhouse: my favorite restaurant. Their rolls are just fabulous. We had eaten an early lunch so that we would be hungry for dinner by the time we got our food around 5:30. It was perfect because we beat the crowd.

After we ate, we went to a Vocal Point concert! I have wanted to do that since my freshman year at BYU, but have never gotten the chance. It was absolutely AMAZING. For those of you who don't know, Vocal Point is BYU's greatest acapella group. They are headed to semi-finals in a national competition sometime later this month. This concert was in honor of their 20th anniversary. One of the guys in the group used to be in my ward and it was fun to see him perform. I would recommend going to a Vocal Point performance to anyone who has the chance. It was so much fun.

Next week we will have a little bit different of a 'date night.' We are flying to Indiana on Wednesday (which is my little sister's birthday) and staying there until Sunday night. It will be so nice to have some time off of school and to spend time with my family. We are both very excited to go.
