Today was my last first day of school! (As a student, at least) It was pretty draining, but I'm excited about the classes that I do have. They all emphasize attendance pretty heavily which might be difficult for me since I have a severe case of senioritis. But I think I can push through only 18 more days of class (only 12 of which I have to wake up early. I will be DONE with college on August 10 of this year... just over 3 years after I graduated high school. Here's a rundown of my classes:
SFL 110: Food Preparation in the Home- This class is pretty intense for a summer term since it goes twice as fast as a usual class. Every week, I will attend two 1-hour lectures and two 3-hour labs. In the labs, I will get to work with 2 or 3 other students on making recipes. Plus, you get to take home leftovers, so Kris should enjoy it too. I think it will be a lot of work. The teacher expects a lot and does not take late work, but she seems really funny and I think I will enjoy the class. The first lab is on Wednesday and I can't wait to start getting college credit for eating food :)
REL C333: Teaching of the Living Prophets- This class often focuses on the most recent general conference and discusses in depth those talks. However, my professor takes a more biographical approach. We will talk about all the of modern-day prophets, from Joseph Smith to Thomas S. Monson, as well as the current general authorities. I am way excited about doing it this way. The teacher has already shared some great stories that I've never heard so I think it will be a great class.
PHIL 205: Deductive Logic- Honestly, I signed up for this class because it fit into my schedule and on ratemyprofessor.com, it said this class was an easy A. It turned out okay. The teacher seems really cool and he is very clear in explaining things. This is one where I'll just have to see how it goes as we get deeper into the material, but I'm optimistic.
So, those are my LAST classes at BYU. After these, I will be a college graduate. I am beyond excited to be almost done with school. Now just to find a job after I graduate...
