Father's Day

Yesterday was Father's Day. Poor Kris was pretty sick so he stayed home from church, but we were able to have a great steak and shrimp dinner at his parents house later that evening. I just wanted to take a minute to talk about both of our dads.

This is a picture of Kris with his dad, Todd. He has been a great help to us, especially lately. He has come and helped mow the lawn twice when Kris was unable to because of work. We really appreciate all the little things he does to help us. I know that Kris really looks up to his father. He's told me a lot of things that he remembers about his dad growing up that he wants to do with our kids. I'm glad Kris has such a great example of a father to look up to. It was apparent to me from day one that he cared about his family.

This is a picture of me with my dad, Steve. One thing I remember most about my dad was how much he supported me and cared about what I was doing. I remember specifically that he canceled church meetings one night to come to a "Fine Arts Night" at my high school in which I was part of a woodwind quintet (yes, french horns are in those, because they're awesome). He always made it a point to go to all of my concerts or shows and was genuinely interested in them. He has been supportive of whatever I wanted to study in school. I feel lucky to have a dad that played such a big role in my life and is someone I can go to for advice.

We love you both! Happy Father's Day!
