As I've mentioned before, I am taking a floral design class at BYU during Spring term. I am officially done with the class (the last lab was on Thursday and there's no final). So, I thought I'd share some of the things I've done. (Ignore the dates on all the pictures... they're wrong on the camera.)
This is a wrapped bouquet that I made the week before Mother's Day. This is me holding it so you can get a feel for how big it was. I was in the last lab section, so we were able to use up some of the extra flowers they had. We didn't get to do this every week, but it was fun when we did get to.
This is what it looked like once I put it in a vase:
The next week, we learned how to do boutonnieres. I did not get any pictures of these. But I do know how to now, which is a good skill to have. The next thing I have a picture of is our Springtime arrangements. We had to bring our own containers for this and used floral foam. This was one of my favorite arrangements. (Sorry for the poor quality. The picture is from my cell phone... I forgot to get one on the camera)
Next, we did bridal bouquets. This one was a lot smaller than the one I had. I also didn't get to pick all of the flowers. They already had everything separated into piles. I ended up liking the color scheme a lot better once it was put together though. The colors are a little off in the picture. The roses were so dark red that the underside of the petals almost looked black. The stock in the picture was a deep purple, even though it looks a little blue here.
This is the "silks" design we had to do... This was a homework assignment, so no direction from TAs. Also, I just got the cheapest stuff I could find that was on sale. It turned out pretty well, considering.
Lastly, this is the "glass cube" design from yesterday. I did a shot from above to show the gerber daisy. I absolutely loved the coloring of that flower, and then a shot to see the whole thing. I'm not usually a fan of non-plant stuff in arrangements but I really liked the curly wire.
And there you have it! Those are all my floral design projects. It was an excellent class. To anyone at BYU- I highly recommend taking this class. Norah Hunter is a great professor. She is super funny. It is so fun and you learn a lot of valuable skills. It is also an easy A :)

you're doing a great job! they look beautiful.
