After we were married, the festivities begun. Our photographer, Angela Cooper, was WONDERFUL. You can see her blog here. We hadn't met her before so I was a little nervous but as soon as we came out of the temple, she just started snapping pictures. It was so fun to spend a couple hours getting pictures on the beautiful grounds. The day was perfect. There was snow on the ground but it wasn't snowing. It was a little bit chilly but I was totally comfortable the whole time we were outside-- with just short sleeves even. Here are some pictures from outside the temple:

After we left the temple, we headed over to the wedding luncheon. I was unfamiliar with what that was until I started planning my wedding, so I'll just give a brief description. A wedding luncheon is similar to what I was familiar with, a rehearsal dinner, in that it is a time for close friends and family to celebrate with the couple. Everyone gets together and has a meal. We just had ours during the day since we didn't need to do any sort of wedding rehearsal the day before. The decorations were so beautiful. Kris's mom, Tressa, was such a huge help. She made some table runners and came up with an idea for a great centerpiece with small picture frames that had engagement pictures as well as little metal containers with white sixlets in them (I love sixlets). She also made these adorable aprons for those helping to serve the food that said "Kris and Amy 12-4-10." The food was great, too. We had roast beef, potatoes, salad, and vegetables. It was nice to have a good meal and relax with family and friends.
Kris and I had originally planned on trying to get a nap in between the luncheon and our reception but that was foiled by spending the afternoon trying to salvage my wedding dress. The train of my dress got super muddy while taking pictures outside earlier in the day. Luckily, I had gotten something else to wear to the luncheon so we got to soak the bottom of the gown while we were eating. With Kayla and Melissa's help, we were able to get a lot of the mud off. We had to use baby wipes to get off us much of the dirt as we could but then we were left with the dilemna of how to dry the train before the reception. We put it by the fan and it dried quickly, fortunately. It was still a little off-white, but looked loads better than before we started.
Next came the reception. It was our last event of what was a very long day but we had a wonderful time. It was so great to be able see friends and family. We loved being able to share our special day with everyone who came. I didn't make it very long in my heels, though. I ended up wearing socks while standing in the receiving line. It was so much more comfortable and no one had to know since my gown was so long.
(Here is Kris helping me put some socks on-it's hard to do that with a wedding dress on. He didn't even complain about having to help me. What a great husband)
I appreciated so much all of the help with the decorations, setting up, and cleaning up that so many people pitched in. Everything was just beautiful, it was much better than anything I could have done by myself. It was the perfect end to a perfect day. Here are some pictures of how great everything looked. You can also look at more images from the reception if you want.
We are so blessed to have such great family and friends who helped us with everything. It was a wonderful wedding day. We are so happy to be married and look forward to the many years to come!
