Lucy is one month old! I can't believe it has been that long yet at the same time I feel like she has always been a part of our family. Here are some highlights from Lucy's first month:
- Lucy's first bath- she's just over a week old here. We had to wait until her umbilical cord fell off, which it did when she was 7 days old. Then we had stopped at Wal-Mart on the way to my parents and Kris ran in to get something when Lucy had a major blowout. Tressa changed her diaper and then we had to take off her onesie. Kris had gotten back and so all three of us were standing in the parking lot; it was pretty funny. Except when the onesie was taken off, some of the mess was transferred to her hair. Thus, her first bath :)
- Learning to tolerate the car seat. Lucy HATED her carseat and would scream all the time. Now, she only screams sometimes. Mostly when we get stopped at lights. She takes it personally and screams until we get moving again.
- Lots of sleeping!
- And cute faces :)
We just love our little girl! She has had smiles since she was little, mostly in her sleep, but on her one-month birthday she had her first definite social smile. We were making faces at her and she smiled a big smile and then did it again when we smiled at her in response. She loves to look at the blinds. She will sit and watch them for a half hour after we change her diaper. She is a happy baby. She won't stay down at night so I hold her on the couch and she sleeps with me at night. We think she's the best baby and we're so lucky to have her!
