Good news: we both survived finals! I think we were both relieved to be done with our respective classes. I got my grades yesterday and did pretty well and Kris is still waiting on his since he just finished yesterday. No summer break though. Kris is going to try to pick up a lot more hours at work and I have already started spring classes. (Not much of a break, huh?) It's hard to have to go back to school after I've been going pretty much non-stop since August but it will be worth it because I only have 30 more days of classes left in my undergraduate career. I am SO excited to graduate in August.
BYU works a little differently than most universities. We sacrifice a Spring Break and have a shorter Christmas Break in order that we can fit in two terms over the summer, which equal one full semester together. (This is not up to the students, I'm pretty sure at least I would pick to have a spring break.) For Spring term (right now), I am taking:
Floral Design: This class seems awesome so far. The teacher is hysterical. It's something I've wanted to do since my freshman year at BYU. We will learn how to do boutonnieres, corsages, springtime floral arrangements, bridal bouquets, and more! I think it will be so fun because I love doing that kind of thing.
Humanities 202: This is my LAST general education course at BYU. I have 11 papers to write for this class in less than 7 weeks! It will be a little more time consuming than my floral design class, and the teacher doesn't seem as cool, but I can make it to the middle of June.
During summer term I get to take all electives and I'll write a blog about those classes when the time comes, I'm sure. In the midst of all the studying and test-taking, we've had some pretty exciting things happen. A little over a week ago, there was a windstorm. TONS of shingles came off the roof. They were all over the front yard and the street. Our neighbors across the street were great about helping. They helped pick up shingles and then one of the guys got up on the roof and nailed some extra shingles up there (which will just be temporary) to protect the roof from further damage. Some guys are coming next week to fix the roof. It was quite an exciting occurrence (and made us thankful we aren't homeowners quite yet).
